The QiTai Radio Telescope (QTT) project is among the most important scientific events in the world in 2023, selected and published on the official website of Nature. The QTT project has been attracting much attention from the astronomical community at home and abroad.

Complementary to the FAST, the QTT is another major scientific and technological infrastructure in the field of astronomy in China. When completed, it will be the world's largest and most accurate 100-meter omnidirectional movable radio telescope, capable of observing three-quarters of the sky with extremely high sensitivity, covering the center of the Milky Way and the 12°sky region to the south, which is of great interest to the astronomical community.

In September 2022, the groundbreaking ceremony of QTT was held in the "Astronomy Valley" in Qitai, officially kicking off the construction. The QTT will further establish and maintain China's leading position in the world of radio astronomy devices.
