Recently, Maiwulanjiang Maitinuer, Vice President of the Xinjiang Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), visited the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, the Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, and the Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory to review progress in scientific and technological innovation. During the visits, he toured research facilities and held discussions with researchers and staff.
The institutes reported on major research projects, innovation platform development, international cooperation, and future priorities. Participants also discussed challenges in basic research, key laboratories, and technology transfer.
Maiwulanjiang Maitinuer acknowledged the progress made and emphasized four priorities: strengthening research aligned with regional industrial needs, planning future development goals, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration to address key technological challenges, and expanding international cooperation, particularly with Central Asian countries.
Officials from relevant departments of the Xinjiang Branch accompanied the visits.
