In order to implement the spirit of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Party Leadership Group’s 2025 Summer Enlarged Meeting, scientifically plan development for the next five years, and ensure the high-standard and high-quality advancement of the core mission to seize the strategic heights of science and technology, the Xinjiang Branch and Xi’an Branch of CAS, together with other affiliated institutions, jointly held a seminar on the promotion and research of the “15th Five-Year Plan” in Urumqi on September 23.

During the meeting, the participants from the Xinjiang Branch, Xi’an Branch, and other affiliated institutes reported on the progress of their respective “15th Five-Year Plan” preparations and exchanged views. Officials from the CAS Bureau of Development and Planning attended the meeting and delivered a detailed presentation, interpreting the national requirements for the “15th Five-Year Plan” and outlining CAS’s overall arrangements. They also elaborated on the general goals of scientific and technological innovation in the new era, the overall framework of CAS’s planning work, and its key focus areas, while providing guiding suggestions for the affiliated institutes’ planning efforts.

The meeting called for earnest and pragmatic efforts to advance the preparation of the “15th Five-Year Plan,” thereby making new and greater contributions to fulfilling CAS’s role as the main national force in strategic scientific and technological innovation.

Relevant officials from CAS’s functional bureaus, as well as from the Xinjiang Branch, Xi’an Branch, and other affiliated institutes, attended the meeting.
