Xinjiang Branch of the CAS Held 2019 Spring Festival Sodality for International Experts and Students----Xinjiang Branch,Chinese Academy of Sciences

On the afternoon of January 19th, Xinjiang Branch of the CAS held 2019 Spring Festival Sodality for International Experts and Students. Vice President of Xinjiang Branch of the CAS, Mou Zhenjiang and Zhang Xiangjun, deputy director of the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of the CAS, Zhang Yuanming, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee and the Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee, Jlili Abuduwaili, the assistant of the director of the Xinjiang Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the CAS, Abulimiti Yili, and the vice president of the Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory of the CAS, Jarken Esimbek, attended the event. The sodality was hosted by Jlili Abuduwaili.

Zhang Xiangjun made an opening speech. He said that under the correct leadership of the Party Group of the CAS and the Party Committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the Xinjiang Branch of the CAS has achieved outstanding results in the past year in terms of promoting the "First Action" plan of the CAS. Among them, there are outstanding contributions made by foreign experts and students from Xinjiang Branch. On behalf of the Xinjiang Branch of the CAS, he expressed sincere gratitude to all foreign experts and international students, and expressed his wishes for the New Year.

At the meeting, the Xinjiang Branch presented awards to three outstanding foreign experts and 11 outstanding international students. Subsequently, foreign experts and international students made reports and expressed their gratitude to the Xinjiang Branch for the concern and help in their work and life. International students all said that their study and life in China gives them the opportunity to experience the beauty of the land of China, to feel the long history of the ancient civilizations, deepen the understanding of the Chinese people's customs, and strengthen their recognition of Chinese culture. The international spread of Chinese culture will be further promoted in the future. During the period, foreign experts and international students also performed talent shows, including song and dance performances, musical instruments, Chinese chorus, and Chinese poetry readings. The atmosphere was lively and full of exoticism, fully demonstrating the versatility of foreign experts and international students of the Xinjiang Branch of the CAS.

Mou Zhenjiang made a concluding speech.
