On December 15th, It’s learned from the session of “Chinese Science Association Member Day” & “the Sixth Award Session of the National Model Scientific and Technological Workers”, the secretary of Party committee, the researcher Tian Changyan and the associate editor of Uyghur section of journal center Arid Land Geography and Research in Arid Area TAXKIN·Japar, both from Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, won the honorary title of “National Model Workers of Science and Technology” at the six session.

It’s reported that a total of 962 people were awarded in recognition of their outstanding scientific and technological achievements. Among them, 10 were awarded the title of “National Top Ten Outstanding Scientific and Technological Workers”, 37 were awarded “the Nomination Award of Ten Outstanding Scientists”.

Chinese Association of Science and Technology set up the title of “the National Scientific and Technological Workers”, the highest government award for those who devoted their life to the work position, innovation, the scientific moral, achievements with significant influence and China’s development of science and technology.

Since 2010, it’s been held once every two years, which is a lifelong honor.
