The Workshop on Pulsar and Nanohertz Gravitational Waves Detection was successfully held at the Nanshan Station of Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory (XAO) from 15 to 17 January, organised by XAO. About 30 participants from Peking University, National Astronomical Observatories, Yunan Observatories, Lishui University and XAO attended this workshop.
Director WANG Na of XAO gave the greeting speech first to welcome participants of this workshop. 16 lectures were delivered in related fields, such topics as the latest progress of the Chinese Pulsar Timing Array (CPTA), Data base, gravitational wave sources, pulsar timing noise, radiation characteristics, polarization calibration and interstellar medium , etc.
All of the participants expressed thier hope to deepen cooperation and academic exchanges in related research fields, and jointly promote the development of the pulsar timing array and nanohertz gravitational waves detection.
The workshop was supported by a major science and technology project of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region "Research on Key Technologies for Detecting Nanohertz Gravitational Waves Using Pulsar Timing Array", which is led by XAO. (from XAO)
