On August 1st, the Xinjiang Branch of CAS(XJB) successfully held the 2018 Table Tennis Competition. 33 athletes from Xinjiang Branch system including Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography(XIEG), Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry(XTIPC), and Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory(XAO) participated in men’s and women’s singles and men’s and women’s team matches.

The Party member, the head of the discipline inspection unit, and the chairman of the labor union, Anniwar Maimaiti, made a speech at the opening ceremony. He pointed out that it’s an important part of cultural and spiritual construction of Xinjiang Branch system. Dong Yunshe, secretary of the Party Committee and the vice president of XIEG, and jarken, the vice president of XAO, and Xokrat, the director of the comprehensive office of XJB, attended the opening ceremony.

The participating teams and athletes adhered to the sports spirit of “friendship first and competition second”, fully respecting the opponents and the referees. The atmosphere was intense and also harmonious, which shows the high level of competition and good mental outlook of Xinjiang Branch system. In the end, XIEG won the team championship, XTIPC won the runner-up, XAO and XJB obtained the third prize of the team match. Dong Yunshe and Shen Yuling won the men’s and women’s championships respectively.

After the competition, the Xinjiang Branch Trade Union rewarded the top six winners of the men's and women's singles competitions and the top three winners of the team competition.
