On May 20, the Science and Technology Week 2017 with the theme of "Use Science and Technology Power to Realize Innovation Dream", held by the Xinjiang Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the opening ceremony of the 13th Public Science Day were carrying on at the village of Aiyamake in Moyu County, which aimed at express the charm of innovation. The Party Secretary of Xinjiang branch of CAS, Mu Zhenjiang attended the event and delivered a speech. The village cadres, villagers, and nearly 600 students participated in the activities.

At the opening ceremony, Mu Zhenjiang first expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the rural cadres, village working groups and villagers, who gave great support to the activity. He pointed out that in the Belt and Road Initiative, Xinjiang is positioned as "the core of the Silk Road economic zone", villagers should use their own hard work and wisdom to make due contributions to Xinjiang's social stability and the development of economy and society.

With the national flag-raising ceremony, the whole activity began, which provided the audience with distinctive and colorful programs performed by both Xinjiang branch staff and villagers, which included Uygur dance "Happiness like Flowers", the chorus "Singing of Fatherland", the solo "Where is the Road", country style model catwalk and Uygur musical instrument performance, and two lectures entitled "Scientific Understanding of the Earthquake and Scientific Prevention of Disasters " and "the Secret of the Stars".

After years of experience gaining, the Science and Technology Week has become a high-level, multi-disciplinary and multi-functional popular science display activity for the grass root masses, aimed at carrying forward the scientific spirit, advocating scientific knowledge and pursuing the truth of science.
