On October 10th, at the tenth anniversary of the CAS Public Science Day Summary Conference & Science Popularization Seminar, CAS Xinjiang branch was commended and awarded the honorary title "CAS Advanced Collective". 15 advanced collectives were selected from more than seventy units in the recognition reporting. As one of the two branches awarded by the recognition, Xinjiang Branch’s science work was fully affirmed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Deputy dean of Xinjiang branch Dong Yunshe attended the meeting, and as a special guest, he sent the award certificates to advanced individuals for the popularization of science work.

In recent years, Party Committee of Xinjiang Branch paid great attention and attached co-ordinate layout for the science work. Closely around the central task of the regional scientific, technological, economic and social development, through the innovation and further development of institutional mechanisms, with the spirit of philosophy "cooperation and win-win", coherent with the scientific advantages of institutes (Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Xinjiang Observatory), with the power of Science and Technology Department of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Autonomous Science Association and other related departments, relying on "Science and Technology Week", "Public Science Day" and other platforms, actively promote the spirit and achievements of science to the public. By holding series of large-scale science activities and science exhibition, Xinjiang branch launched popular science books and works, enhanced the capacity of public services of popular science venues, strengthened the building of science teams, carried out the science education with distinctive characteristics, formed a new science work situation that owns prominent theme, broad participation, and distinctive characteristics.
