In order to implement the important content of the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS)-Xinjiang Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement and the spirit of the high-level conferences between CAS and Xinjiang, further promote the construction of the pilot zone for the innovation-driven development of the Silk Road Economic Belt. On April 4, Chen Xi, vice president of the Xinjiang Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, led the team to conduct research and study activities in Karamay.
Zhao Wenquan, Party Secretary of Karamay City and Wang Gang, Mayor of Karamay City, met with Chen Xi and had a discussion. Zhao Wenquan pointed out that Xinjiang Branch provides strong technical support for the development of Karamay that lay a good cooperation foundation between two sides. At present, Karamay is in urgent need of scientific and technological support in the process of urban transformation and industrial upgrading. It is hoped that the Xinjiang branch will combine the construction of the pilot zone to further consolidate the superior scientific and technological resources and help the urban transformation and upgrading and rapid development of Karamay. Karamay will provide strong support for the relevant work.
After the meeting, Chen Xi and his entourage went to the Karamay Campus of the University of Petroleum of China (Beijing) and surveyed the Karamay National Agricultural Science and Technology Park, and held discussions with the relevant people in charge of the agricultural park and enterprises. Chen Xi pointed out that the survey aims to promote the key projects of the science and technology cooperation agreement in the district.
