The CAS Overseas Students Association Held The Belt and Road Science and Technology Forum in Urumqi

From December 19th to 21st, the CAS Overseas Students Association & Xinjiang Branch, and the Xinjiang Overseas Students Association held the Belt and Road (B&R) Science and Technology Forum, CAS.

The forum combines the status quo of economic and social development along B&R countries and around the economic and social development of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, arranged a series of reports, and invited experts and scholars to discuss the achievements of B&R initiative.

At the forum, the academician of the CAS, the Executive Director of B&R International Scientific Organizations Alliance Secretariat, Chen Fahu made a special report entitled Pan-Third Pole Science, Cross-continental Exchange and Green Silk Road Construction. Cao Jinghua, Director of the International Cooperation Bureau of the CAS, and Wen Hao, the president of the Xinjiang Overseas Students Association, made reports on the construction of B&R respectively. The other experts and scholars also made special reports on the theme of B&R in combination with their respective research fields. In order to promote the growth of young students studying abroad and give full play to the role of young students studying abroad in the construction of B&R, the forum also invited three young scholars to make academic reports.

This forum is the first full-scale science and technology forum held by the CAS Overseas Students Association since its establishment in October 2017. More than 150 people including the overseas students attended the forum.
